Fees & Refunds
Everything URLGate charges, in USDC. The exact amounts for a payment are always shown before you sign it.
At a glance
| What | Who pays | Fee |

Buyers pay no gas: payments are signed transfer authorizations that URLGate submits on chain and pays the gas for. Payments are in USDC on the networks listed at /api/v2/networks.
Creation fee
Creating a link from URLGate's own create form, signed in with your wallet, is free. Over the REST API or the MCP create_link tool, a caller signed in with a wallet (or using an agent key a person created for their bot) also creates links free, up to a daily quota: 10 links a day, with Premium, and fewer while a wallet is new to URLGate. Quotas reset at 00:00 UTC. Beyond the quota, without signing in, or while URLGate has paused free creation (for example during an abuse wave), each link costs a creation fee of 0.01 USDC through x402, sent to URLGate's service wallet. A suspended wallet is refused before any fee is taken. Details for bot builders: /agents/guide.
Platform fee on each paid open
The buyer pays the link's list price, nothing more. Of that, 0.3% goes to URLGate and 99.7% goes straight to the creator's wallet. Because one x402 transfer can only have one recipient, the buyer signs two authorizations in one step: the platform fee and the creator's share. They are two separate on-chain transfers, so they cannot be made all-or-nothing; URLGate checks first that your wallet holds enough USDC for both, and settles the fee first. Example: a 0.25 USDC link sends 0.00075 USDC to URLGate and 0.24925 USDC to the creator.
- The fee is rounded down to the smallest USDC unit (0.000001). On a very small price the fee can round to zero; then there is only one transfer, all to the creator.
- The percentage is a platform setting that URLGate can change (from 0% up to 5%). The amount that applies to your payment is in the payment prompt, and both legs are on your receipt.
- Promo-code discounts are set by the creator and reduce the price before the fee is worked out. Free passes and allowlisted wallets pay nothing.
Premium membership
Premium costs 5.00 USDC for 30 days, paid in USDC to URLGate's service wallet. It is a one-off payment per period: nothing renews automatically and nothing is ever pulled from your wallet. Buying again before your period ends adds 30 days after the current end date, so you never lose days. You'll see a reminder 5 days before it ends.
Refunds
- Payment only half completed. If one of the two transfers settled and the other did not (for example the fee went through and the creator's share failed for lack of funds), URLGate remembers it for your wallet. Whenever you come back to the link (reload, another device, signed in, or paying from the same wallet) you are asked only for the missing part, one signature; the part you paid is never charged again. A promo code entered later does not change what is owed. If you can't finish, contact hello@urlgate.xyz: the URLGate team can grant access or refund the part you paid.
- Payment that settled after an error. If we told you a payment failed but the transfer went through on chain anyway, URLGate checks the chain automatically and grants what you paid for (access to the link, or your Premium period).
- Creation fee without a link. If a creation fee was taken but no link was created, it is flagged to the URLGate team for a refund to the paying wallet.
- Links that stop working. Buyers who paid keep access when a link is paused, expires or sells out. If the creator removes a link, or URLGate takes it down, it can no longer be opened. URLGate never holds the creator's share, so it cannot return it; ask the creator, and report the link if you think it was a scam.
- Premium. There is no automatic refund of a membership period, including one revoked for abuse.
- Any refund URLGate does make is sent as a new on-chain transfer to the wallet that paid. For anything else, contact hello@urlgate.xyz.
